Springledoodle – Appearance

The typical springerdoodle is a cross between an English Springer Spaniel and a Poodle. They take on the best qualities of both breeds – they are typically friendly, intelligent, and easy to train. Their size may vary depending on their parents’ size, but generally they are a medium-sized dog. They weigh between 30 and 55 pounds and are about 16-24 inches.

Springerdoodles have a coat that is generally soft, wavy, medium in length and very dense. Springledoodles can come in the following color possibility: black, brown, white and cream They do not shed as much so they are hypoallergenic and they are a good choice for people with allergies.

Their eyes are brown and noses are black. They are considered to be quite sturdy, have quite long muzzles and either medium or long, floppy, furry ears.

Springerdoodle – History

There is not much known about Springledoodles History. This crossbreed is relatively young and has not been around for very long. What is known is that these two breeds started to be intentionally mixed around 1980’s and gained popularity in the 21st century.

Spinger Spaniel

The Springer Spaniel is a hunting dog that was bred in England in the early 1800s. It is believed that the Springer Spaniels are the ancestors of most of the Spaniels today. They presumably originate from Spain and were taken by the Romans through trading ships to other parts of the world. Poodle

It is believed that the breed was developed in Germany in the 1600s, but some think they may have originated in ancient Egypt. Poodles were used as working dogs in many different ways, such as retrieving ducks from water, herding sheep, and even pulling carts. They come in three sizes: standard, miniature, and toy. Poodles are known for their intelligence and their ability to be easily trained. They became popular in the United States in the early 1900s.

Springerdoodle – Maintenance

Springerdoodles do not require a lot of grooming, since they do not tend to shed a lot, but they will need to be brushed at least once a week. It is important to keep their coat free of mats and tangles. They may also need to be trimmed every few months, depending on the length of their coat. If a regular exercise does not wear their nails down, their nails should also be trimmed if neccessary.

Springerdoodle – Personality and Temperament

Springerdoodles are very friendly and outgoing. They love to be around people and are always happy to see you. They are also very intelligent dogs and are easy to train. Springerdoodles make great family pets and are good with children. They are not considered to be loud barkers, so they are a good choice for those who live in apartments, as long as they have enough space to run and play.

They are amazing family dogs and are wonderful with kids. Springerdoodles are also considered to be excellent therapy dogs. Make sure however, that your Springerdoodle is socialized and exposed to other people, places and things at a young age. This will help ensure that they will be well-adjusted adult dogs. They do enjoy mental and physical stimulation, so their training should not be problematic.

Ectropian is an abnormality, found in many dog breeds, in which the lower eyelid is turned out instead of inward. Springerdoodles are particularly prone to this condition. Owners can help by keeping the area around the eyes clean and free of hair.

Sebaceous Adenitis is a condition in which the sebaceous glands become inflamed.

Hip Dysplasia is a disorder in which the hip joint is not properly formed, leading to lameness and pain.

Retinal Dysplasia is a condition in which the retina does not develop normally, which can lead to blindness.

Seborrhea is a skin condition characterized by excessive oiliness. Springerdoodles are particularly prone to this condition. Owners can help by keeping the coat clean, free of mats and provide a good diet high in healthy fat. They can live up to 15 years if they are bred properly and have a good care.

Springerdoodle – For Whom?

If you are looking for an excellent companion, both indoors and outdoors, then a springledoodle may be the perfect dog for you. They are also great for first-time dog owners. They are active and need a lot of playtime, so if you are not able to provide that, then a springledoodle may not be the best choice for you. They are also great with children and make excellent family pets. If you are allergic, you may also consider a Springledoodle, because they do not shed as much, because both Spaniels and Poodles are considered medium to non-shedding breeds.

However, although Springledoodles make great family dogs, they are not as good watchdogs. They are too friendly and loving to be considered guard dogs. If you are looking for a watchdog, then you should consider another breed that is more territorial and alert.
