Borgi – Appearance

Borgis are typically dogs, averaging about 11-17 inches in height and around 25 pounds in weight. They have short legs, pointed ears, and a long tail. Borgi – Personality And Temperament

Borgi is fun and playful breed. They are quite active but also enjoy a good cuddle. They are intelligent and learn quickly but can also be quite mischievous, so early training is recommended. They have a herding nature so they need to be socialized with small children or other pets early on. They may be independent but enjoy human company and may be anxious when left alone.

Borgi – Maintenance

Borgis have above average maintenance needs. They should be brushed at least once a week to keep their coat healthy and free of tangles. Diet And Activity

Borgis are very active dogs, and although they will do well in an apartment due to their small size, they will need plenty of exercise. A borgi who isn’t given enough exercise can become destructive, as they will take their boredom and energy out on your belongings. At least an hour of exercise a day is recommended for borgis. Borgis are prone to overweight, so make sure you do not overfeed them. Two cups of dry dog food would be enough, but the amount may vary depending on their sex, age and activity level. Consult a veterinarian for a professional advice and necessary supplements and vitamins for your Borgi.

Health

Borgis live relatively long, healthy lives and have an average lifespan of 12 to 16 years. As any dog breed, they are prone to certain health issues, but with proper care borgis can enjoy a good quality of life. Some common health problems associated with borgis include hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, epilepsy, allergies or ear infections. In order to keep your borgi healthy, you should take him or her to the vet for regular check-ups and follow the vet’s advice on preventive care.

Borgi – History

The history of Borgis is not known and not as long as other races. Their parents are Border Collie and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi or Welsh Corgi Cardigan.

Border Collie

The Border Collie was first developed in the early 1800s by farmers in the border country between England and Scotland. The farmers needed a dog that could herd their livestock and keep them together. They also needed a dog that was intelligent and obedient, so they could be trained to do specific tasks. The Border Collie was the perfect breed for this job.

Welsh Corgi

There are two types of this pure breed – the Pembroke and the Cardigan. The Pembroke is the most popular type and is the one that is most commonly seen in the United States. Corgis are known for being loyal and friendly dogs that make great family pets. They are also very active and love to play, so they need plenty of exercise.

Borgi – For Whom?

Borgis are small dogs, so they may be suitable to apartments, as long as they have enough exercise. They are considered to be good with children, other pets and seniors, but should always be supervised when around kids and early socialization is key. They can be protective of their family and make good watchdogs.

They are occasional barkers and are not prone to making a lot of noise when they are not herding or guarding. They are suitable for seniors or families, and they may be anxious when left alone, so make sure not to leave your pup alone for too long.

Borgi Puppy – Price

The price for a Borgi puppy can vary depending on the breeder. Some may charge a few hundred dollars, while others may charge over a thousand. It is important to do your research before purchasing a Borgi to make sure you are getting a borgi from a reputable breeder.
